Corsicana, Tx. based custom bike builder Christian Dotson scooped top honors in the FreeStyle class at the weekend in the first round of this winter’s Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show World Championship affiliate competition, hosted at the Progressive International Motorcycle Show series opener at Dallas, Tx.
Dotson won with ‘Swingshot’, the radically styled project built around a 93 inch Accurate Engineering ‘Panhead’ style engine with which he announced himself on the custom scene by scoring an impressive 10th place in the AMD World Championship in 2007.

Another highlight of the IMS events is the Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show, an Affiliate Competition to the AMD World Championship of Custom Bike Building. The Modified Harley Class sponsored by Harley-Davidson lets custom bike builders compete at the highest level while enthusiasts can check out these incredible motorcycles.
Harley-Davidson will bring an exciting look, feel and attitude to the 2010-2011 Progressive International Motorcycle Shows (IMS) with a new display area and a variety of activities designed to inspire the desire to ride.

Facebook has started rolling out business-centric features which will ensure a revenue stream for the company which is yet to go public. Facebook’s ‘Deal’ is a promising and disturbing feature which on one hand keeps mobile users updated with the ‘deal’ available at the nearby businesses. On the other hand, it keeps and eye on your location sharing it with its partners.
Facebook is taking advantage of its Places, launched recently to monitor the location of a user and show Deals around that place.
Facebook’s Jon Fougner writes on the company blog, “Starting today, local businesses will be able to offer you deals when you check in to their place on Facebook. The Progressive International Motorcycle Shows will launch the Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Competition, a new elite-level custom motorcycle builder competition, and San Mateo will be the second round in the competition. Contestants are encouraged to enter any of the 12 shows for a chance to win part of the more than $90,000 cash purse. This high-profile competition is in affiliation with the AMD World Championship and will be the largest touring custom bike competition in the United States.
