The mobile web is growing at an exponential rate, and this trend shows no signs of slowing down. This infographic illustrates the rates at which people use the mobile web for social activities.
The table highlights a few intriguing facts, such as that there are more than 100 million active Facebook mobile users, and that those mobile users are twice as active on Facebook than non-mobile users. It also notes that 18-34 year olds account for about 50% of mobile social networking usage.
The explosion of social networking sites over the past decade has facilitated a transformation in the way we communicate with each other. There are numerous communities with over 1 million users. The explosion of social networks happened between 2003 and 2006 (with the creation of Twitter, Facebook & LinkedIn), and the relative slowdown in their creation after 2007.
Brass Balls Bobbers & Choppers builds custom production sleds for 2012.
BBB’s choppers & bobbers are hand built in their Oklahoma City facility to detailed specifications. These sleds are not the type of bikes that populates the local bike hangouts and poker runs. These bikes are what others wished they had to ride. Even non-bikers know they are truly cool rides, not corporate production line wonder.
The D&D Connection
D&D hand-builds custom pipes for the full range of performance exhaust systems for Brass Balls Bobbers.
Sam Wills of Racing Innovations heads up the frame department at Brass Balls Bobbers and Choppers. Sam is a three-time Top Fuel World Champion and legendary frame builder.
Wills makes Brass Balls frames out of thicker tubing than standard motorcycle manufacturers. All frame tubes are made of high-content carbon (for stronger welds) 1026 DOM (drawn over mandrel) mild steel with .156” wall thickness. The backbone is 1-1/2” diameter, all other tubing is 1”. Not only does it make the bike stronger and safer, but it tends to dampen vibration.
Wills is considered an artist when it comes to welding. The following pictures are from the 69 Chopper frame build that will be showcased during the 2011-2012 Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show Series.
Jim Giuffra is bringing his AFT Models’ crew to the Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show to showcase his latest talent on 2 wheels. Supporting Jim’s efforts are the AFT Models that built his creations.
Jim attends many of the bikes shows across the country and finds the Ultimate Builder show a good choice for his time and meeting his promotional needs.
Jim has this to say about the event…
“The San Mateo show brings out the stars from Northern California and over 50,000 bike enthusiasts. We have found this as a great show meet new and current customers. And, they are awarding over $7,000 in cash and prizes!”
“They are not scared of you. They are scared of what you represent to them,” captured the societal landscape, issues, and tensions in the United States during the 1960s.
The 69 Chopper pays homage to this important era of our counter culture with this Dar Holdsworth designed sled. Holdsworth is building a D&D sponsored bike for the 2011-2012 Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show series. The custom chopper will make its debut at the 2011 Dallas, Texas edition of the International Motorcycle Show on December 2-4, 2011.
The HiPo Frame
You can’t officially begin a bike project until you’ve got a place to hang all the bits and pieces. That, of course, means you must start with a frame, and that’s where Part 1 of our D&D Sponsored 69 Chopper project bike begins. Like all of Brass Balls Bobbers’ frames, this essential foundation begins with hand-bent tubing that’s hand-fit and hand-welded.
Word-of-Mouth Marketing (WOMM), also called word of mouth advertising, is an unpaid form of promotion – oral or written — in which satisfied customers tell other people how much they like a business, product, service, or event. Word-of-mouth is one of the most credible forms of advertising because people who don’t stand to gain personally by promoting something put their reputations on the line every time they make a recommendation.
