Once again, the Museum will host one of the largest custom bike shows in the U.S. This event has something for riders and non-riders, and offers unique opportunities to experience and participate in the artistic side of motorcycling and its remarkable custom culture.

With over 160 bikes competing last year, we’ve extended this event over the entire Labor Day weekend. Friday and Saturday will showcase professional builders. Sunday will showcase the best amateur bike builders.

Retail sales of Harley-Davidson will show moderate to low single-digit growth in the second fiscal quarter, according to a research note provided to Powersports Business by Citi Investment Research analyst Greg Badishkanian.

INDY EXPANDS: Motorcycle Show to be held at Lucas Oil Stadium during Dealer Expo

SANTA MONICA, Calif. – Advanstar Communications, parent of Dealernews, announced that two of the industry’s leading powersports events, the Progressive International Motorcycle Shows and the Dealernews International Powersports Dealer Expo, will combine in 2013 to create the ultimate two-wheeled destination weekend in Indianapolis, a city that is conveniently located within a day’s drive for more than half of the U.S. population.

A new stop for the Progressive International Motorcycle Shows, the largest and longest-running consumer powersports show series in the world, will take place on Feb. 15-17 at the Lucas Oil Stadium, while Dealer Expo, the world’s largest powersports trade show, is held at the Indianapolis Convention Center. Together, the two events will take over downtown Indianapolis over President’s Day weekend.

This world-class team of builders, lead by Prince Najar, the vast and all-powerful organizer is headed-up by builder/designer Gary Maurer of Kustoms Inc, and Ron Harris of Chop Docs. We have the Texas Bike Works frame, the magnificent Crazy Horse 100-inch engine, and Jules, of Kustoms Inc. hand-made an oil tank. This issue we welcomed another state of the chrome-arts team into the fray, 3Guyz, a manufacturing shop capable of anything. They work out of a former aerospace manufacturing facility in Hillsboro, Oregon. Their mantra is as follows: Providing specialized customizing and performance solutions for American V-Twin and sport motorcycles, Smart cars, and industrial clients.

Halbert Repeats with Thrilling AMA Pro Flat Track Win in Lima Half-Mile National

LIMA, Ohio (July 1, 2012) – Round five of the AMA Pro Harley-Davidson Insurance Grand National Championship presented by Motorcycle-Superstore.com and Lucas Oil gave the large crowd in attendance for the AMA Pro Flat Track Lima Half-Mile National a little bit of everything.

Typical Lima heat combined with a quick sprinkle after qualifying got riders primed for a great night of racing. When the checkered flag fell on the 25-lap national it was South East Harley-Davidson’s Sammy Halbert on top, but it was far from easy.

“I didn’t get a very good start and was about fifth or sixth and wasn’t gaining anything,” Halbert said. “Then Jared (Mees) went around me on the outside and I thought ‘Well, I guess I better try that.’ I just went higher and higher until I found my line.”
