Late last January, during a blizzard on a Sunday night in New York City, I met Rob Camardo at the Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show while he was promoting his Garage Leathers’ saddlebags.
I was talking with him about becoming a sponsor of the Smoke Out Rally, the Choppafest of the East Coast, and while looking at his premium-grade, American-made saddlebags, a pound of his Road Rage Coffee rolled across the floor of his booth.
The New York round of the Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show is shaping up to be the largest show in the 13 event series. The pre-event entries are ahead of last year and the bikes look outstanding. Don’t miss it. Listed below are a few of the builders that will be attending.

The re-born event, which has been on hold since 2009, is set to take place on July 5th & 6th. Mike Corbin, among many others, was instrumental in bringing this rally back. Corbin is planning their 4th Annual Rider Appreciation Day during the same time as the rally.
As the saying goes, if the weather is bad outside then the inside will be packed… and that was certainly the case as Saturday saw record attendance. GIO brought his iron and took wins in MOD Street and MOD Harley and is now the leading money winner in the series at $6,500.00.

HOLLISTER, Calif. – The Hollister City Council Jan. 7 voted to resurrect the Fourth of July motorcycle rally for 2013. The iconic rally, which had been on-hold since 2009, is now scheduled to take place on July 5 and 6.
It’s widely agreed that the “American Biker” outlaw image was born in Hollister during the Fourth of July weekend in 1947, when a rowdy group of bikers terrorized the town. The story was picked up by Life Magazine, and then sensationalized in the movie, “The Wild One,” starring Marlon Brando.
The city launched the Hollister Independence Day Rally to commemorate the 50th anniversary of “The Invasion of Hollister”; however, the city put the rally on hold in 2009 due to financial considerations. Private commemorations, including an annual open house at nearby Corbin-Pacific, kept the rally’s spirit alive.
The city of Hollister has partnered with Mark Cresswell as their Rally manager. His firm is Worldwide Dynamics Inc. email@example.com 561-214-1137 or 561-214-1138 P.O. Box 668 Old Fort, N.C. 28762
The 2013 rally reportedly will include motorcycle-only parking, a vendor display, two entertainment areas, local beer gardenes, demo rides, and an official bike show for the AMD World Championship of Bike Building, the company said.
Hollister is a city in and the county seat of San Benito County, California, United States. It’s primarily an agricultural town with a population of 34,928.
Have you ever seen the movie “The Wild One” with Marlon Brando? That’s loosely-goosely based on the 1947 incident.
In 1997, the City of Hollister decided to hold a Fourth of July Independence Motorcycle Rally downtown to celebrate the 50th anniversary of that event. It turned into an annual happening that brought thousands of bikers into town. Although it was cancelled in 2009, many bikers continue to visit the area to check out July 4 events held by local motorcycle groups and Johnny’s Bar and Grill.
