America’s biggest, and longest running motorcycle show is set to hit the Washington, DC region January 4-6 of this year. Motorcycle enthusiasts from all walks of life are going to have a blast experiencing all that this bike show has to offer. One of the premier features of the International Motorcycle Shows is the Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show. This is the 3rd Annual custom bike show for the nation’s capital and it pitches builders from around the region with sleds that are comparable to none.< The Ultimate Builder features the world's leading customized bikes and offers the largest prize purse of any builder competition on earth with over $100,000 given away in cash and prizes. The series is just hitting its stride as the US Ultimate Builder Championship was finalized at the Indianapolis round on February 15-17, 2013.

Adam Karns, Frank Rutigliano, Steve Campbell and Ross Latimer are just a few of the names that have signed up for the Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show. The Ultimate Builder is designed for builders and dealers to compete in a friendly environment with services created specifically to assist in brand and business building. By entering the show you can expect:

  • Winning up to $7,000 in prize money
  • Winning up to $750 in prizes
  • Complementary Photo Shoot
  • Social media updates

The facility is easy to get into and out and there is vehicle parking close by.

There are 5 Ultimate Builder Categories

  • Freestyle – open class for any build with a motorcycle based drive train;
  • Modified Harley – open to any year Harley Davidson. Must have stock Harley Engine cases and frame maintaining original configuration. Rear end mods allowed (i.e., altered swing arms, fat tire kits and rigid sections);
  • Performance Custom – high performance based vehicle with motorcycle based drive train; and
  • Retro Mod – open class for any build with a motorcycle based drive train 25 years or older.
  • Modified Street – Must have major OEM, Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha, Polaris, Triumph, etc. manufactured frame engine cases. Harley-Davidson motorcycles are not allowed in this class.

The Show Within the Show

The Ultimate Builder is actually a show within a show as it resides in the center of the International Motorcycle Show (IMS) series.

This year’s IMS show in Washington, DC will feature exhibits from all the top motorcycle manufacturers; including Harley-Davidson, Ducati, Triumph, Honda and many more. Also featured in this year’s show are numerous interactive seminars, with topics ranging from bike maintenance to road safety.

Don’t miss activities like the pit stop challenge and adventure zone for the kids will offer entertainment as well as great photo ops for the whole family! Along with plenty of new bikes to see there will be a huge aftermarket parts and accessories marketplace and a bunch of different contests to enter.
